You might be wondering what the hell happened to my site. Well, it changed. As you may have noticed I no longer run WordPress. I'm now running Habari on this site. It's not because Habari is better than WordPress, but simply because I got bored of WordPress and Habari offered a new code base for me to play with. I still highly recomend and support the WordPress project.

More Smilies 2.1 has just been released. There are a couple of bug fixes in this release, as well as some performance improvements. Mainly I removed the sorting of the smilies arrays, which can be rather large. This also addresses the issue that people had while trying to customize the sorting of there smiley packages.

After looking at TextPattern's templates, I thought it might be useful to have the XML style templates in WordPress. So I did a little hacking and came up with the WordPattern Template system.

Time for another plugin. Installer, the Plugin is probably the most useful plugin you'll ever use :). Why? Cause it installs plugin and themes for you with one click! It can install almost any theme and/or plugin out there, and even supports remote file installation. You just paste in the URL of the plugin/theme and it grabs it and installs it.

WordPress has a very nice Customizable Permalink Structure. Unfortunately with the new rewrite rules (using path info) all 404's no longer get sent to the system logger.

I've intergrated a brand spanking new search into my site. It allows you to search 3 areas; Blog Posts, Static Pages, and Comments. As well as some other options.

I Just released Auto Links plugin 0.2. This version fixes the problem in IE as well as some JS issues. So it should now work in Internet Exploder 6.

Introducing the Preview Drafts Plugin version 1.1. This little plugin will allow you preview any Post or Draft in your current theme. The post/draft MUST be saved, as a post or a draft, before you can preview it. I had released this plugin earlier, but never mentioned it here, so I decided to update it a bit.

This plugin will try to automatically fill in the information (title, description, URI's) of new sites you add to the WordPress Link Manager. Simply enter in the URI, click go, and the plugin will try to find a RSS feed. From the RSS feed it will get the Site Name, Description, URI, and RSS URI. If it can't find the RSS feed, then it will just get the HTML title of the site.

There have many concerns and question about the template system used in WordPress. Mostly the concerns are with n00bs and the complications of PHP. “I want to change this and that, but don't know PHP”. I hear this a lot. But the thing is, you don't need to know PHP to change the Templates in WordPress.

I wrote this plug-in because I didn't like the default WordPress smilies :-), and thought it would be great if we could have "packages" of smilies that you could choose from. So here it is, a plug-in that allows you to choose between different sets of smilies. Hopefully there will be many people that do up some great smilies packages. 8-)
